Advantage Coastal Alabama: A Plan for Our Future
Leonard Kaiser, Chairman
Advantage Coastal Alabama
In 2014, the Board of Directors of the Coastal Alabama Business Chamber embarked on an initiative to develop a Five-Year Strategic Plan for Business Development in Coastal Alabama.
Over 130 business, civic, community, and governmental leaders participated in a 7-month process to develop this plan and fine-tune it.
The plan covers five major areas that the Chamber will focus on between 2015 and 2020. They are
- Support for Existing Business
- New Business Development
- Transportation & Infrastructure
- Education & Workforce Development
- Conservation and Environment
Advantage Coastal Alabama is designed to be a partnership between
- the private and public sector
- those who employ our workforce and those who educate our workforce
- large and small business alike.
Implementation of the plan will begin upon the completion of our capital campaign that will fund its finalization and implentation.
Advantage Coastal Alabama, while a project of the Chamber, is designed to be a partnership that will be funded separately from membership dues and other Chamber operations. Funds invested in this partnership will NOT be used for current projects, existing staff salaries, etc. They will be separately accounted for in separate accounts and a new stewardship advisory board comprised of investors will be in charge of directing strategy and funding.
